The Mobility Blog

About

The Mobility Blog is a place to learn from industry experts on mobility training, stretching, coaching, and the principles that shape better movement.

Some posts are technical, some are philosophical, but the goal stays the same: help you move better, one joint at a time.

About Brian Murray

Brian Murray started The Mobility Blog to create a home for writing, editing, and collaborating on useful, honest work in the fitness and mobility space. He writes most of the posts here and edits the rest.

Brian is a mobility coach with sixteen years of experience helping people move better, get stronger, and train without pain. He founded Motive Training, a personal training facility in Austin, TX, and created Motive Mobility, an online platform for joint health and movement longevity that includes KINSTRETCH Online classes.

His coaching draws on Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) and WeckMethod, alongside years of hands-on work with clients. The aim is to bridge mobility and performance: make the concepts simple enough to act on, and honest about what the evidence does and doesn’t support.

How We Write

Posts on this site explain why a method works, not only how to do it. Factual claims link to their sources, usually peer-reviewed research, and when the evidence is thin or mixed, the post says so. Coaching opinion is labeled as opinion. Posts describe when to stop and see a clinician rather than push through pain.

Guest posts are written by coaches and clinicians in their own names, with their credentials in the byline. If you’d like to contribute, see Write With Us.
